What is it:

Delaware Lacrosse Academy is offering a Summer Youth LACROSSE SKILLS and GAMES ACADEMY.

Location =   George Read Middle School (New Castle, DE)

Times =  6:00 – 8:30

Days =   Tuesdays and Thursdays

Length =   7 weeks beginning June 13 (no July 4th games).  Weather permitting (no make ups)

Ages =  Boys currently in 4th , 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade.

Cost =   $150.00 (includes reversible practice jersey)

Program Details:

6:00 – 7:00 pm Skills

Focus will be on doing things the right way…all of the time.  Fundamentals and basic skills will be reinforced while learning advance skills and techniques.  Situational play (e.g. 3 v 2, 4 v 3, 5 v 4, transition, ground ball scenarios, broken situations, etc.) will help hone skills while increasing Lacrosse IQ

7:00 – 8:30 pm Games

Players will be broken into teams to play a series of games to showcase the skills and situational play learned in the first hour.

Purpose:

The purpose of the Skills & Games Academy is to develop players’ Lacrosse IQ, skills and fundamentals during drills and situational play to help get a stronger understanding of the game to help advance their speed and level of play.

Philosophy:

“TEACH not TELL”.  Players will be taught high level techniques along with different types of situations that occur in every game.  Players will be challenged to answer questions and to ask questions so that they gain a stronger knowledge of the importance of being a student of the game.

Matt Daley – Head Coach at Charter School of Wilmington / Silverbacks Travel High School Lacrosse Program (5 years) / former standout attackman at McDaniel College (D3).
